RCMRD International Conference and 4th AfriGEO Symposium – Kenya

The annual RCMRD Conference, organised by the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development in Nairobi, Kenya, provides a platform for science policy exchange, innovation hub and user engagement between Earth Observation users. The theme for this year’s conference, which took place from 13 – 16 August 2019, was “Earth Observation for Evidence Based Decision Making” which aimed to inspire the presentation of innovative and creative ideas on the use of earth observation information in addressing societal problems.

The participants of the conference were around 200. The attending academics and professionals, active in the fields geospatial data capture, collection and processing, came mainly from Kenya and its neighbouring countries such as Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania, etc. making the conference a suitable platform to present the its4land land administration toolbox containing the project exploitable results.
