Institut d’Enseignement Supérieur de Ruhengeri

INES is an Institute of Applied Sciences. Since its creation in 2003, INES has educated and researched on problems that apply to daily existence in Rwanda. INES aims to contribute to the interactive conjunction between civil society, private sector and public sector, and to national and regional development, by providing specialized university education enhanced by research, in order to create competitive enterprises and well paid employment. In its continued quest to provide sustainable contribution to the solving of the land related problems in Rwanda, INES successfully launched educational programs in surveying and land administration and management over the last 5 years. It has won and undertaken several substantial research grants provided by USAID LAND Project with regards to assessing the outcomes of the Rwandan Land Tenure Regularization (LTR) program.

INES plays active roles throughout the project, most prominently in phase 1 and 2, but also phase 3. Specifically, INES is engaged on WP2 to enable smooth access to local stakeholder networks including government, community, and private sector actors. It will also assist in the design of data collection instruments, and subsequent roll-out. For WP3, 4, and 6, INES will assist in site selection, take part in UAV training, and execute components of the prototyping and demonstration activities. INES participates in WP7 and 8 in an advisory and dissemination role. INES acts as the stakeholder hub for Rwanda in the its4land project.
