What: Rwanda – UAV Training Course

Why: In a side-project, closely linked with its4land, INES and UT teamed up – with donor sponsorship coming from NUFFIC Netherlands – to deliver a 2 week short training course of UAV applications in the land tenure and natural environment management sectors for 2o participants from across Eastern Africa. The UT team also took the chance during the course to meet with the growing body of ITC/UT alumni now based back in Rwanda. During the course, UT incorporate activities – with ethics approval – that can feed into the growing body of knowledge informing WP2 ‘Get Needs’. They also exposed and got feedback on a geocloud based land administration tool – cadasta.org – during a day long practical involving land tenure data modelling and recording.
